April Cox-Sandlin:

Appointments Wednesday thru Friday and some Saturdays available!

April Cox-Sandlin is a happy, single mother of two. Her girls, Haley (13) and Brianna (12), live in Morgan County with April and their 3 cats and 2 Maltese pups, Maggie and Daisy. April has lived in Morgan County her entire life and enjoys any opportunity to be outdoors. And, as all groomers should, April loves, loves, loves animals! April is a graduate of the Concord School of Grooming and holds a Master All-Breeds Professional Grooming certification. Want to know more about April or schedule an appointment? Amy Nunn:

Appointments Monday and Tuesday

As a graduate of the Concord School of Grooming, Amy holds a Master All Breed Professional Groomer certification and has spent many hours learning and honing her craft. Before devoting her professional life to grooming, Amy was a practicing RN and still holds that educational background in high regards. Amy lives at home with her 15-year-old son, Quinton, and her loving fianc? Glen McCollough. And the best part of the job? Getting to know all of the clients and their furry companions. Are you curious about our groomer? Amy would be more than happy to meet you and your pet, so feel free to speak with our friendly reception staff about scheduling an appointment.

Sue Martin: 


Sue's most enjoyable experience as an employee at Powell Animal Hospital is meeting the new puppies and kittens and watching them grow with their families. Sue & husband Dave, relocated from Erie, PA in 2003 and she began working for Powell Animal Hospital in March 2004. They share their home with 9 cats and 3 dogs.

 

 Phyllis Muckle:


 

Phyllis says the best thing about her job is getting to play with the cats & dogs. If she were an animal she'd like to be a spoiled cat. When not working at Powell Animal Hospital, she enjoys woodcarving & ceramics.

Denise Davis:


Denise most enjoys meeting the pets and their owners and if she could be an animal, she would choose to be a cat. Her favorite hobby is tropical fish and her favorite animal related book is Where the Red Fern Grows.

 

 

 

Beth Jarrett, LVMT:

 

 

Beth has been in the animal care industry for over 17 years and has recently graduated from Lincoln Memorial University's Veterinary Technology program. When not at Powell Animal Hospital, she works out of town at an Emergency Critical Care facility and plans to VTS in Emergency and Critical Care. She has 4 dogs that travel nearly everywhere with her: Chance, Lili, Emmy and Oliver.

 

 

 

Dan Niemczyk:

 

 

Dan is a certified veterinary technician and has worked as a tech for the past 6 years. He has worked in many different types of hospitals, including emergency referral clinics. Dan moved to Knoxville after being accepted into the University of Tennessee's Veterinary program and he is currently working towards a degree. Dan has 2 indoor cats at home, one of whom was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus a few years ago and currently receives insulin injections twice daily.

 

 

Chad Freeman

 

 

Chad is a graduate of Roane State College, and before that, of Anderson County High School. Having grown up on a farm, Chad has worked with many animals and has cultivated a great love for all creatures. He has a wonderful way with our patients and can always be seen petting and talking to a four-legged friend. Chad's life long goal and passion is to get into a Veterinary Program and become a Veterinarian. 

 

 

 

 

 

Our Animal Caretakers

 

 

Lee Anne Williams:

 

Lee Anne has lived in Powell her entire life and graduated from Powell High School in 2010. She is now studying at the University of Tennesee-Knoxville, and while she is unsure of her major, she dreams of one day owning a farm with a lot of land and plenty of animals. For now, she shares a modest apartment with her cat, Leo, and cares for the pets at the hospital as if they were her own. Her favorite part of the job? Giving the boarding animals lots of special attention while they're away from home.

 

 

 

Ashley Carver:

 

 

Ashley lives in Powell and attends the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She enjoys working at Powell Animal Hospital because she is able to spend time with so many animals, all of whom are amazing creatures! Ashley's vibrant and bubbly personality is apparent, as she is always smiling and laughing. The only match to Ashley's personality? The unique and wonderful personalities of the pets she is lucky to play with each day!

 

 

 

Cera Sears:

 

 

Cera is a friendly young lady who was born in California and has lived in 13 different states. Over time, she has collected her very own zoo at home, which includes many types of reptiles; her favorite being the Pac-Man frog. Cera loves her job at Powell Animal Hospital because it is both fun and challenging. The perfect day at work? Being able to spend time playing with the pets as well as creating stead-fast relationships with her fellow co-workers.

 

 

Paige Kennedy

 

 

Paige was born and raised in Knoxville, TN and graduated from Central High School in 2009. She is currently enrolled in the veterinary technology program at Lincoln Memorial University. Paige's favorite part about her job at Powell Animal Hospital is spending time with and getting to know the animals, as well as having fun with her co-workers. While she is at home, she can be caught spending time with her two precious dogs: Bailey Grace and Zoey.
